Foreword:
This article mainly talks about the origins of Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu. Baoyu is a stone that Nuwa abandoned under Qinggeng Peak, wandering around, and went to Jinghuan Fairy to become a “Shenying Servant”. He met “Pearl-Dropping Immortal Grass” (later Lin Daiyu) and irrigated her with nectar every day. Later, he was taken down to the mortal world by a monk and a Taoist priest, and the Immortal Grass of the Pearl also descended to the mortal world with him. Afterwards, Yi Shiyin (psychic dreams: a man named Zhen Shiyin was very knowledgeable, he had a dream of a three-year-old daughter Yinglian, whom he regarded as the jewel in his hand) suggesting that “a monk and a Taoist were reborn with stones and turned into mortals”.
In ancient times, the goddess Nuwa smelted stones to fill the sky, plucked 36,500 stubborn stones, and only one was left unused, and threw them under the Qinggeng Peak of the Great Wilderness Mountain. This stubborn stone has been tempered by the goddess, has spirituality, can become bigger or smaller, and will come and go on its own.
On this day, a monk and a Taoist priest came to the bottom of Qinggeng Peak and saw that the stone became clean and crystal clear, only the size of the pendant of a folding fan.
The monk held him in his hand and said, “Engrave a few words on your body, so that people will know that you are a treasure when they see it, and take you to a prosperous country, a wealthy family who knows how to read and etiquette, and flowers and willows that are prosperous, rich and gentle. go somewhere.”
The stone was very happy and asked, “I don’t know what to engrave? Where should I take it?”
The monk smiled and said, “Don’t ask. You will understand in the future.”
After speaking, he put the stone in his sleeve and left with the Taoist priest.
I don’t know how many thousands of years have passed, an empty Taoist passed by the Qinggeng Peak of Wuji Cliff in the Great Wilderness Mountain. When he saw a huge stone with many characters engraved on it, he read it from beginning to end.
It turned out that what was engraved on the stone was his experience of being brought into the world by the vast master and reincarnated into the world. There is everything above, but there is no dynasty, and there is a poem behind it:
There is no talent to go to make up the sky, and it is worthless to enter the red dust for many years.
This is the story of the past and the future, who can remember it as a biography?
Kongkong Daoist copied down the Chinese characters of the stone and named it “The Story of the Stone”. Influenced by the story on Shishang, he changed his name to Love Monk, and changed “The Story of the Stone” to “Love Monk Record”. Kong Meixi in Shandong is entitled “*”. Later, Cao Xueqin spent ten years in the Mourning Red Pavilion, adding and deleting five times, compiling it into a catalogue, dividing it into chapters, and titled it “The Twelve Hairpins of Jinling”, and inscribed a quatrain:
Full of absurd words, a handful of bitter tears!
Du Yun’s author is crazy, who can understand his bitterness?
The text written on the stone reads:
Changmen in Suzhou City is the most prosperous place in the world. There is Shili Street outside Changmen, and there is Tiaorenqing Alley on the street. There is a gourd temple in the alley, and a family of officials lives next to the temple. His surname is Zhen, his name is Fei, his word is Shiyin, and his wife’s surname is Feng, with a virtuous temperament. Although the family is not particularly rich, it is also the first in this area. He was placid by nature and did not seek fame. Every day, I watch flowers and grow bamboo, drink and write poems, and be happy like a fairy. The fly in the ointment is that the old couple is nearly half a hundred years old and has no son, only one daughter, named Yinglian, who is three years old.
One day in midsummer, Shiyin was tired of reading in his study, so he fell down on the table and came to a place in a confused way, and he saw a monk and a Taoist.
The Taoist asked, “Where are you taking this idiot?”
The monk said: “Now there is a period of romantic koans that have not been concluded, and these romantic enemies have not yet reincarnated. Take this opportunity to entrain this stone in it and let him experience it.”
The Daoist asked, “These romantic enemies, I don’t know where it started? Where did it end?”
The monk said: “This stone is not used by Empress Nuwa, so she went to play everywhere. On this day, he came to Fairy Jinghuan, Fairy Jinghuan ordered him to be the servant of Shenying in Chixia Palace. He saw a plant of Xiangzhu fairy grass on the bank of Sansheng Stone on the bank of the Linghe River in the West. It is very cute, so I water it with nectar every day, so that the fairy grass can get rid of the embryo of the grass and cultivate it into a daughter’s body. In order to repay the grace of watering the stone, the immortal grass forms an inexhaustible affection in the five internal organs, and often says: ‘If I am still a human being in the next life, I will repay him with tears of my life. ‘ Because of this, he has seduced many romantic enemies to go down to earth. We can take this stone to Fairy Jinghuan, register him, go down to earth with these love ghosts, and settle the case. “
The Taoist priest said, “It’s really funny. I’ve never heard of repaying my gratitude with tears. Why don’t you and I take this opportunity to go down to the mortal world to get rid of a few, this is a merit.”
When Zhen Shiyin heard such a rare thing, he hurriedly stepped forward to salute, trying to find out. Erxian smiled and said, “This is a secret, and it cannot be revealed.” Shiyin repeatedly asked what the “stupid” was. The monk handed a piece of crystal clear jade, and he took a look. The front was engraved with the words “Psychic Treasure Jade”, and the back was engraved with a few lines of small characters, just as he was about to take a closer look, the monk said, “I’m in a fantasy world.” He took back the jade and entered a stone archway with the Taoist. The archway is engraved with “Illusory Realm”, with a couplet on both sides:
When the false is true, the truth is also false, and there is something inactive and there is nothing.
Zhen Shiyin wanted to follow up, but as soon as he lifted his foot, he suddenly heard a sound like a landslide and ground cracking, and suddenly woke up, it turned out to be a dream (psychic dreams), and half of the dream had been forgotten. He saw the wet nurse coming with Yinglian in his arms, reached out to take it, and carried it to the door to watch the fun. Suddenly, a monk and a Taoist priest came to the street, with a shaggy head and bare feet, talking and laughing madly. When the monk saw that he was holding his daughter, he burst into tears and said, “Donor, what are you doing with this thing that has life but no luck?” The Taoist priest said, “Give it to me.” Shiyin became impatient and turned around to enter the door. The monk laughed and read four poems:
It’s ridiculous that you are so crazy about your daughter’s pampering, (looking at you holding Yinglian) It’s like the summer linghuakong facing the winter snow.
Or beware after the Lantern Festival, when there will be disasters that will extinguish fire and smoke.
Shiyin’s heart moved, and just as he was about to ask them where they came from, the two had disappeared. At this time, a poor Confucian living in the Gourd Temple came over. His surname is Jia Minghua, the word is Shifei, the alias is Yucun, he is a native of Huzhou, from a family of poetry and calligraphy officials. By the time of his father, the family had already decayed, and he was left alone. He went to the capital to seek fame, stayed in Suzhou, stayed in a temple, and made a living by selling characters. He smiled and asked, “Did the old gentleman see some news?” Shiyin said, “No. The little girl was crying just now and I took her out to play. Brother Jia came just in time. Please go to Xiaozhai to chat and kill time.” having said that, he asked his family to take his daughter in, and he and Jia Yucun came to the study. They had just had a sip of tea and didn’t talk a few words when the family came to report: “Master Yan is visiting.” Shiyin apologized to Yucun and hurriedly went to the front hall.
Yucun was bored alone, so he flipped through a few pages of the book, and when he heard that Shiyin was leaving the guests to eat, he said hello to Xiaotong and left through the back door.
In the blink of an eye, the Mid-Autumn Festival, Yucun thought of living in a foreign country, unable to display his life ambitions, he looked up to the sky and sighed, and chanted a couplet in a loud voice:
Jade seeks a good price in the guilt, and the hairpin waits in the cage to fly.
Shiyin prepared a table of wine in the study and came to invite Yucun. He happened to hear it and said with a smile, “Brother Yucun’s ambition is extraordinary!”
Amamura hurriedly said, “I don’t dare! I just recite the verses of my predecessors, and I have received an award.”
Shiyin said: “Tonight is the reunion festival. Brother Zun is staying in the temple. It is inevitable that you will be lonely. Please invite your brother to our restaurant for a drink.”
Yucun did not refuse, and went to Zhen’s study with Shiyin. The two took their seats, first poured a slow drink, and gradually they talked about it, and then put on a big cup and drank. Taking advantage of the wine, Amamura expressed his lofty ambitions and lamented that he could not go to Beijing to seek fame because he had no money. Shiyin immediately ordered the boy to seal fifty taels of silver and get two sets of cotton-padded clothes to help him go to Beijing for the test. Amamura thanked them, and the two of them drank until the third watch. Shiyin didn’t wake up until three poles in the sun, remembering that he should write a letter to Yucun, and if he went to the capital, he would be an official and an eunuch to settle down, so he asked the boy to invite Yucun.
Xiaotong came back and said, “The monk said that Master Jia had already entered Beijing at five in the morning, so he left a message for the monk to convey his respect to Master Zhen.” Shiyin also gave up.
Time flies, and in the blink of an eye it is the Lantern Festival again. In the evening, Shiyin asked his family, Huo Qi, to hold Yinglian to watch the lanterns. Huo Qi wanted to urinate and sat Ying Lian on the threshold of the house. When she came back, Ying Lian was gone. She searched anxiously for half a night, but couldn’t find it, so she was scared to flee here. Shiyin and his wife hurriedly sent people to look around, but there was no news at all. The old couple almost cried to death, fell ill one after another, and became bedridden. On March 15th, a monk at the Gourd Temple fried offerings to the gods and accidentally spilled oil on the pan, causing a fire that burned a street like a mountain of flames. The Zhen family bore the brunt of the fire, burning a pile of broken bricks and tiles. Fortunately, the old couple and their families escaped with their lives, and the Shiyin couple lived on a farm in the countryside. However, this year was plagued by famine, thieves swarmed, and the farm was difficult to live in, so Shiyin had to sell the land, take two maids, and go to his father-in-law’s house.
His father-in-law’s name was Feng Su. Shiyin gave him the money and asked him to buy some real estate and land on his behalf. This old man deducted a lot from it, and only gave his son-in-law some modest grounds to break the house. Shiyin is a scholar, but he does not know how to grow crops. After a year or two, he is getting poorer and poorer. Feng Su said before and after that Shiyin was lazy and would not be able to live. Shi Yin was poor and sick, and gradually he no longer wanted to live. On this day, when he was walking on the street with a cane to relax, he suddenly saw a lame Taoist man, wearing tattered straw sandals and a torn Taoist robe, singing like crazy:
The world knows that the gods are good, only the fame and fame can’t be forgotten!
Are the generals of the past and present still there? The pile of grass on the abandoned tomb is gone.
The world knows that immortals are good, only gold and silver can’t forget them!
In the end, I only hated that there was not much together, and when it was too long, my eyes were closed.
Everyone in the world knows that gods are good, but only the sweet wife can’t forget it!
He always said hello when you were alive, but when you died he went to be nice to others
The world knows that immortals are good, only children and grandchildren can’t forget them!
There are many obsessive parents since ancient times, who have met their filial children and grandchildren?
Shiyin greeted him and asked, “What did you say, only heard ‘Okay, okay’?” The Taoist smiled and said, “You can hear the word ‘Okay’, so you can still understand. Everything in the world is okay. That’s it, it’s good. If you don’t, it’s not good; if you want to be good, that’s it. My song is called “Good Song”.” Shiyin had already realized it, and said: “I’ll take your “Good Song” How do you explain it?” The Taoist smiled and said, “Just explain it.” Shiyin said:
The shabby house was empty, when the wat was full of beds. Withered grass and withered poplar, it used to be a singing and dancing venue. The spider silk is full of carved beams, and the green gauze is now on the awning window again. What do you say that the fat is thick and the powder is fragrant, how can the temples turn into frost? Yesterday, the loess long head was buried in the bones, and tonight the red silk tent lies under the mandarin duck. The chest is full of gold, and the chest is full of silver. In a blink of an eye, all beggars are slandered. I am sighing that the life of others is not long, how do I know that I will be mourned when I return? The training is well-rounded, and it is uncertain to be a strong beam in the future. Wielding the cream beam, who is willing to live in the fireworks lane! Because the gauze hat is too small, so the shackles are carried. Yesterday, I felt pity for breaking the jacket and cold, but now I think the purple python is long. Chaos, you sing and I come on stage, denying that the other country is the hometown. Very absurd, in the end they are making wedding clothes for others.
The Taoist clapped his hands and laughed, and said, “That’s the right answer!” Shiyin said, “Let’s go,” but he didn’t go home, and drifted away with the Taoist. Neighbors took this as news legend. Feng Shi learned that she cried so hard that she asked her father to send someone to look for her, but there was no news. At this stage, Feng Su had no choice but to let his daughter live with him.
On this day, the maid of the Zhen family was buying wires in front of the door, and saw the newly appointed county magistrate passing by. She looked up and saw that the grandfather in the sedan looked familiar, but she couldn’t remember where she had seen it before, so she turned around and entered the door, not taking it to heart.
When I went to bed at night, I heard a knock on the door, and many people shouted: “The county magistrate’s dispatcher has come to pass the question.”
Feng Su was taken aback, and hurriedly opened the door and came out, smiling and asking what was the matter. Those people only said: “Please come to Master Zhen!” Feng Su said, “The villain’s surname is Feng, but the surname of the youngest son-in-law is Zhen. He has been a monk for a year or two.”
The servant said, “We don’t know what is “true” or “false”. Since you are your son-in-law, you should tell your grandfather.”
Feng Su went with the servant, and didn’t come back until the second watch, saying, “It turns out that the new grandfather’s surname is Jia Minghua, and he is an old friend with his son-in-law. People will pass it on. I will explain the reason, the grandfather sighed for a while, and will send someone to find Yinglian, and he will give me two taels of silver before leaving.”
Early the next morning, Yucun sent someone to send two silver coins and four pieces of brocade to thank the lady of the Zhen family; she also sent a letter from Feng Su, asking him to ask the lady of the Zhen family to be the second wife. Feng Su was trying to please his grandfather, and he was so happy that he slammed his daughter with all his strength, and took Jiao Xing to the county yamen in a sedan that night. Amamura was overjoyed, and gave Feng Su a hundred taels of silver as a reward, and gave the lady of the Zhen family many gifts to let her live by herself.
It turned out that in that year, a scholar from Yucun concealed a gift of silver to help, and he rushed to the capital the next day. After three articles, he was very proud of it. He won the jinshi and became the county magistrate. Although he was talented, he relied on his ability and neglected his superiors. Soon he was enrolled in a book and dismissed from his post. He sent his family and savings back to his hometown to settle down, and then he went out alone to visit the famous places in the world. He came to Yangzhou that day and fell ill in an inn. After he recovered, he had no money. Fortunately, I met two old friends and recommended him to Yan Zheng Lin Ruhai, who became the teacher of Miss Lin’s family.
Lin Ruhai’s name is Lin Hai, the word is Ruhai, and he was originally a former criminal, from Suzhou. His ancestor was also a marquis, inherited to his father, he was born in the imperial examination. He is forty years old, and only his wife Jia has a daughter. The baby name is Daiyu, and she is five years old. The couple love them like the jewels in their palms, so even though they are daughters, they are also raised as sons. Daiyu is young and weak, and there is no limit to how much homework, so Yucun’s teaching is extraordinarily labor-saving. After more than a year, Mrs. Jia suddenly fell ill and died. Daiyu served her mother, and was filial and filial, and suffered a serious illness. Amamura was fine, and whenever the weather was fine, he went outside to play. One day he came to the outskirts of the country and saw a mountain surrounded by water, there was a dilapidated temple with the inscription “Zhitong Temple” on the plaque, and the couplets on both sides of the door were:
I forgot to withdraw my hands behind me, I had no way in front of my eyes, I wanted to turn back.
Amamura thought to himself, from this couplet, the monks in the temple had also fallen into trouble in the officialdom. He came to a village hotel and wanted to have a few drinks, but a drinker stood up and greeted him with a big smile. He recognized the man as Leng Zixing, a trader of antiques in the capital, and the two were very speculative when they were in the capital.
Amamura met with him, wanted to serve food and drink, and exchanged some polite words before asking, “What’s the news in Beijing recently?”
Zixing said: “It’s the old gentleman who has a small and rare incident in his same clan.”
Amamura said, “No one of the younger brothers is in Beijing.”
Zixing said, “Isn’t the Rongguo Mansion also surnamed Jia?” “It turned out to be his family. If it is verified, I and Rongguo Mansion are still one. But he is so honored that it is inconvenient for us to recognize relatives, and we are getting more and more estranged.”
Zixing sighed, “In those days, Duke Ning was a mother and two brothers, and Duke Ning was the eldest, and gave birth to four sons. After Duke Ning died, the eldest son Jia Daihua inherited the rank, and he also gave birth to two sons, the eldest son Jia Fu died at the age of eight or nine, and the second son Jia Jing inherited the rank. Jia Jing wanted to become an immortal, but fortunately he had a son named Jia Zhen in his early years, and he let Jia Zhen attack the official title, just fooling around with the Taoist priests. Jia Zhen also has a son named Jia Rong, who is only sixteen years old this year. Because Master Jing doesn’t care about anything, Jia Zhen and his son only know how to have fun, turning Ning Guofu upside down. That strange thing happened in the Rong Mansion. After Duke Rong’s death, the eldest son Jia Daishan assumed the title and married Miss Shi Houye, a noble family in Jinling, and gave birth to two sons. Dai Shan has long since passed away, and the old lady is still alive. Jia She inherited the title and did not care about family affairs. Jia Zheng has been fond of reading since he was a child, and he is upright and upright. Because of his understanding of the ancestors, the emperor gave the old man the post of director of the Ministry of Works, and now he has been promoted to a member of foreign affairs. The first-born son, Mrs. Wang, was admitted as a scholar at the age of fourteen, married before the age of twenty, gave birth to a son, and died of an illness. The second child gave birth to a young lady on the first day of the new year. Unexpectedly, another son was born later, and it is even more strange that he was born with a colorful and crystal jade in his mouth, and there were many characters engraved on it, do you think it is strange?”
Amamura smiled and said, “It’s really weird. I’m afraid he has a lot of background.” Zixing sneered and said, “Everyone said this, so his grandmother loves him like a treasure. When he was one year old, Master Zheng asked him to catch Zhou Er and try him. As for his future aspirations, who knows that he won’t catch anything, but only play with the hairpins and hairpins. Master Zheng said that he would be a drunkard in the future, so he didn’t like him, only the old lady regarded him as the lifeblood. Now he is seven or eight Although he is very naughty, he is very clever, and he is not worth one in a hundred. His words are also strange: ‘Daughter is flesh and blood made of water, men are flesh and blood made of mud, I feel refreshed when I see my daughter, see The man will feel filthy and stinky.’ Do you think he will not be a lecher in the future?” Amamura said seriously: “No! Just because you don’t know his origin, even the senior politicians have misjudged him, not a master but a master. It’s hard to see through.”
Zixing saw that he was so solemn and asked why.
Yucun said: “There is not much difference between people born in heaven and earth, except for the great benevolence and the great evil. The great benevolence is born at the right moment, and the great evil is born in response to the catastrophe.”
Then, he listed various benevolent and virtuous monarchs, cruel and ignorant monarchs, good officials who ruled the world, traitors in troubled times, and even the leaders of poetry and calligraphy. Below, it only depends on what kind of family he was born in and what kind of education he received.
Zixing asked, “According to your view, the winners are princes and the losers are thieves?”
“That’s what I mean,” Amamura said.
He gave some examples to illustrate the problem.
Zixing said: “The four girls in Jia’s residence are not bad either. The eldest daughter of Mr. Zheng was named Yuanchun, because she was virtuous, filial, talented and virtuous, so she was chosen to be a female historian in the palace; the second lady was born to Mrs. She’s aunt and was named Yingchun; The third miss is a descendant of the political master, and is named Tanchun; the fourth miss is the younger sister of Ningfu Zhenye, named Xichun. Because Mrs. Shi loves her granddaughter very much, she follows her grandmother to study together.”
Yucun said, “Miss Jia’s house, what’s the cliché in the name?”
Zixing said: “Because the eldest miss was born in the first year of the new year, she was called ‘Yuanchun’, and the rest were called ‘Chun’. , whose name is Jia Min, Yu She and Zheng are both next to the word ‘wen’.”
Yucun asked: “Prince Zheng has a son with a jade title, but Duke Pardon doesn’t have one?”
Zixing said: “When Duke Zheng had Yu’er, his concubine gave birth to another one, and I haven’t heard whether it is good or bad. She also had two sons, the second son named Jia Lian, now in his twenties. He married the niece of Duke Zheng Mrs. Wang’s maiden family as his wife. This grandfather Lian donated a deputy prefect, and he didn’t like to read. This Lord Lian donated a deputy prefect, and he doesn’t like reading. And he loves to play with his heart, and his words are reasonable. He had married his own wife, but this lady had nothing to disapprove of. She looked very beautiful, spoke very eloquently, and had a very deep mind. Even ten thousand men couldn’t match her.
